What is colocation?
Colocation (or “colo”) is the practice of renting space in a secure data center to house your business servers, storage, and communications equipment. Instead of maintaining expensive in-house facilities, businesses leverage third-party data centers for power, cooling, bandwidth, and physical security.
Why businesses choose colocation
Security – Colocation data centers provide enterprise-grade security, including access controls, surveillance, and compliance with strict industry standards.
Reliability – Power redundancy, backup generators, and climate control ensure consistent uptime.
Connectivity – Colocation sites offer direct access to carriers, cloud services, and internet providers.
Scalability – Easily expand your infrastructure without the cost of building or maintaining your own data center.
Global data center options
Through our network of providers, businesses can access colocation services worldwide. From basic telecom colocation facilities to certified enterprise-grade data centers, solutions can be customized to meet your unique requirements.
Ordering colocation services
Telecom.live™ does not currently support direct online colocation orders. However, once you place an order for a business internet or multisite network, your new provider can set up a colocation discovery meeting with their sales engineers. Many providers allow colocation services to be added after your primary service order.
If you’re considering colocation as part of your connectivity and data strategy, we recommend speaking with providers during your quote process.
